Young Adults Ministry
"Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
1 Timothy 4:12
Welcome
Welcome to the Young Adults Ministry of St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Cathedral. We are a vibrant community of young adults (typically ages 15 and above) dedicated to growing in our Orthodox faith, building strong fellowship, and serving our church and community together.
Our ministry is a place to connect with fellow Orthodox Christians, ask challenging questions, and deepen your relationship with God in a supportive and understanding environment. Whether you are a college student, a young professional, or just starting your family, we have a place for you.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to build a community of faithful young adults who are rooted in the teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, committed to a life of prayer and service, and equipped to be Orthodox Christian leaders in their homes, careers, and the wider world.
What We Do (Our Programs):
Spiritual Growth: We hold regular Bible studies, prayer meetings, and spiritual discussions (Mezgebe Haymanot) to explore the depths of our Tewahedo faith, the Holy Scriptures, and the lives of the Saints.
Fellowship & Community: Building strong bonds is important. We host social events, game nights, sports activities (like basketball or soccer), group dinners, and retreats.
Service & Outreach (Agape): We live our faith through action. Our group volunteers for various church events, participates in local community service, and organizes outreach programs to help those in need.
Education & Mentorship: We host workshops and guest lectures on topics relevant to young adults, such as faith in the workplace, relationships, and personal development, often connecting with senior members of our church for guidance.
