About Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church
--------------------------------------------------------------

Ethiopia, the land of Judeo-Christianity, is one of the most ancient predominantly Christian countries of the world. It is marked with a fascinating history, unique civilization, culture and religious life. The Book of Genesis recounts: “And the name of the second river is Ghion: the same is it that compasses the whole land of Ethiopia” (Geneses 2:13). The Psalmist David also says: “Let Ethiopia hasten to stretch out her hands to God” (Psalms 68:31).

Nurturing Faith, Building Community

Welcome to the central hub for Christian Education at St. Mary's Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Our Sunday School ministry is dedicated to nurturing our children, youth, and young adults in the sacred teachings and rich heritage of our Tewahedo faith.

Our mission is to provide a loving and engaging environment where every member can build a strong spiritual foundation, grow in their relationship with God, and connect with their church community.

This page is the gateway for all our Sunday School groups. While our Children's Ministry and Young Adults Ministry pages provide detailed information about our programs, this is your action hub.

Youth in Faith (Ages 14–18)

Older youth are guided to strengthen their personal faith through spiritual discussions, mentorship, and community service, preparing them to become active, committed members and faithful examples within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

Young Servants (Ages 10–13)

This group takes an active role in church life, participating in junior choir and service, while lessons on faith in action, traditions, and good character help them grow in responsibility and spiritual maturity.

Young Adults (Ages 18-35)

The St. Mary's Young Adults Ministry (ages 18-35) is a vibrant community dedicated to growing in the Tewahedo faith, building strong fellowship, and serving the church by offering spiritual discussions, social events, community outreach, and educational workshops.
